The Fire Next Time

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
The Fire Next Time

So I recently read the Bible account of Noah and the great flood and discovered something I had never noticed before. I thought the flood was only caused by rain, but Genesis 7:11 says that water also came from under the earth.
Genesis 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
Genesis 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Also, God promised in Genesis 9:11 that he will never destroy the earth by a flood again, which I was aware of.
Genesis 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

I had been told that God would use fire to destroy the earth in the future, but I never remembered reading a bible verse to support that. What I did remember was the phrase “The Fire Next Time”, which I now discovered was a book written by James Baldwin. So I searched for scripture to back up that phrase and found 2 Peter 3:10 through 3:13.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

So here is a thought that I had based on those findings. With the flood God used water from both the ground and the sky. Maybe God will use fire from both the ground and sky also. Maybe there will be volcanoes and meteors during the next destruction.

What do you guys think? 🤔
